Este título é meramente ilustrativo, para definir as expedições circulares realizadas em muitas das cidades que visitei depois de 2015. O que começou como uma caminhada teste ao redor de Praga antes da ousado primeiro trecho da Hoferweg, se desenvolveu o longo do tempo como possibilidades de comparar e relacionar  situações urbanas muito distintas. As expedições não são necessariamente das oito da manhã até as oito da noite, mas são sempre de dia inteiro, do nascer ao por do sol, o astro a nos acompanhar em sua lenta caminhada diária.

/ 8 to 20 This title is merely illustrative, to define the circular expeditions carried out in many of the cities I visited after 2015. What started as a test walk around Prague before the daring first stretch of the Hoferweg, has developed over time as possibilities to compare and relating very different urban situations. The expeditions are not necessarily from eight in the morning until eight at night, but they are always all day long, from sunrise to sunset, the star accompanies us on its slow daily movement. /

Nunca subestime uma metrópole super adensada onde os estímulos gráficos surgem a cada passo. Por isso a caminhada acabou sendo dividida em duas partes: umaque foi de Sul ao Norte, tangenciando o Hudson pelo Oeste , e a outra de Norte a Sul, beirando o  East River. E o que NYC esta fazendo enfiada no meio de cidades europeias? É que eu não ia abrir um capitulo  para um acontecimento isolado. E se pensarmos nas origens da Nova Amsterdã, não deixa de fazer algum sentido

/Never underestimate a super-dense metropolis where graphic stimuli pop up at every step. For this reason, the walk ended up being divided into two parts: one that went from South to North, tangent to the Hudson by the West, and the other from North to South, bordering the East River. And what is NYC doing stuck in the middle of European cities? It's just that I wasn't going to open a chapter for an isolated event. And if we think about the origins of New Amsterdam, it makes some sense./

Este percurso estava relacionado com o lançamento da HOFERWEG em Lisboa, o que me motivou a reproduzir a mesmo desenho da caminhada em Praga que abre o livro. Mais ainda, realizei um caderno com as mesmas dimensões, com paradas no mesmo horário, criando uma sobreposição gráfica e temporal em duas realidades geográficas distintas.

/ This route was related to the launch of HOFERWEG in Lisbon, which motivated me to reproduce the same drawing of the Prague walk  that opens the book. Furthermore, I made a notebook with the same dimensions, with stops at the same time, creating a graphic and temporal overlap in two different geographical realities. /

A PROSA DO OBSERVATÓRIO

Ao chegara Londres antes de iniciar a HW3, decidi fazer uma série de expedições pontuais como aquecimento para o derradeiro trecho do projeto. A presença do Observatório de Greenwich nos arredores do bairro onde eu estava hospedado instigou uma caminhada com dupla circunferência que se tocavam exatamente na linha do meridiano Zero. Como se o caminhante desenhasse com os pés o símbolo do infinito cujo ponto de inflexão seria o marco inicial para a contagem do tempo.

/ Upon arriving in London before starting HW3, I decided to make a series of one-off expeditions as a warm-up for the final stretch of the project. The presence of the Greenwich Observatory on the outskirts of the neighborhood where I was staying prompted a walk with a double circumference that touched exactly on the zero meridian line. As if the walker were drawing the infinity symbol with his feet, whose inflection point would be the starting point for counting time. /
